Lyndhurst Leads Tour of Britain

We were very proud of four  pupils from Lyndhurst, who were selected from entries to a local ‘create a banner for the Tour of Britain’ competition,  when they led the TOUR OF BRITAIN leg from Camberley on Saturday. After meeting at 7.30am they were given special cycling kits and helmets and proudly led the race down Park Street at 10am on their own bicycles. A once in a lifetime experience. Many members of the Lyndhurst family were on hand to cheer them on their way. Later they were presented with certificates by the mayor on the podium at the start of the race. We luckily managed to keep the two banners which lined the route – look out for them at Lyndhurst in the next few days. Many thanks to their parents and Mrs Hooper and Mrs Penfold who were on hand so early on a Saturday!
