Year 5 visited the Living Rainforest in Newbury. We toured the forest and we even saw Cinnamon, the sloth, who was awake during the day! We were all rather wary of Luigi the Currassow and rushed passed him as he was free roaming and quite large and was eyeing us up suspiciously! The Blue Morpho butterfly was breathtakingly beautiful. Later on Liz, the guide, pointed out the Black Magic plant and explained why is repels water so effectively. The day ended with the complexities of retail therapy after seeing toucans, monkeys, fishes and agouti all living in an arboreal habitat together.
