Two Heads are Better than One!

Last week I handed over the reins to Harry and Charlie Howard.  The week started with the boys leading our whole school celebration assembly.  I was so impressed with how well Charlie and Harry did, but also how well behaved and respectful all the children were towards them.  Following assembly the ‘new heads’ went on a tour of the classrooms while I became a pupil.  It was great to get a ‘child’s viewpoint of lessons and Charlie and Harry took great interest in all the work in all classes.  The morning ended with a meeting with their PA to check the diary for the week.  The following day Mr Day showed the new headmasters what he was working on around the school.  Armed with notebooks the boys took copious notes and asked some searching questions.  In the afternoon the School Council Meeting was chaired by Harry and Charlie.  Wednesday saw Bring a Snuggly Day.  This was a great hit for all the children and raised a very good sum of money for CLIC Sargent, our school charity for the year.  I think this will now become an annual event.  Thursday started with the boys reporting their news to the staff at the weekly staff briefing and then Charlie hosted a prospective parent.  On Friday morning the boys were at the gates welcoming pupils to school and then at the end of the day they awarded Headmaster’s Pluses.  There official duties ended this Monday with lunch in the Headmaster’s Study.  I must congratulate Harry and Charlie on being fantastic Headmasters.
