Year three had a great day out visiting not one but two different places this week. In the morning they visited the Living Planet Centre which is the headquarters for the WWF. They learnt a lot about conservation and the amazing flora and fauna of our planet before focusing on the journey of the cocoa bean from pod to chocolate bar. After this they made their own chocolate truffles and designed their own packaging and logo’s for their chocolate products.
After lunch they went to the Lightbox Art Gallery where the focus was on using art in storytelling. They looked at works of art and used their imaginations to invent stories about them. Following this they took part in a puppet workshop where the children designed and made puppets then told stories using their puppets. It was a busy day packed with learning.
