Year 1

In Year 1 your child will become part of Key Stage 1 moving from the Foundation Stage into the National Curriculum. He or she will now be expected to be more independent as work level in class will increase considerably from what they are used to in Reception. Your child will continue to read to the class teacher four times a week and homework will be to re-read their reading book and practise a few sight words.
