Year 1 and 2 went to Pizza Express this week. When we got there, the children were explained the safety rules and had to then wash their hands. They were then given aprons and chef hats. First they were shown how to mould and stretch out the dough using the flour to stop it getting sticky. Then they had to add the ingredients which they were told how to do to ensure they had the best tasting pizza. While they were doing this they were told lots of interesting facts about the food used. They also had a food tasting session where they tasted mushrooms, red onions, mozzarella cheese, basil leaf, tomatoes and peppers. When the pizzas were cooked we took them to the park and had a slice just to make sure they tasted as good as they looked.
