Luckily, due to a planned trip for Year 1 and 2 on Thursday 2nd March, we celebrated World Book Day on Tuesday….
The most enormous thank you from the English Department for all of your terrific effort in preparing the children for World Book Day 2018. During the day, we imagined characters from different books meeting on a park bench, judged the teachers’ costumes, took part in book sharing and book swapping, listened to teachers reading their favourite picture books around the school, and we really made it very, very hard for teachers to choose winning costumes from each class. Congratulations to those who won prizes – the costumes on display were truly incredible!
Each child has a book token worth £1 to spend on a book from a local bookshop (which can also be put towards a £2.99 audiobook), and we look forward to seeing new books around the school. a huge congratulations to everyone on a terrific day, which was made even more special by the heavy (and very exciting!) snowfall at lunchtime.
Happy World Book Day to all!
