Year 3 had a fabulous trip learning even more about the Anglo Saxons.  They dressed up in the tunics, Ethelberga, wore an impressive travelling cloak whilst Alfred  had to tie the bottom of his trousers to ensure they didn’t rip when out farming.

The children made clay counters for a game, practised their script using ink and quill and created some beautiful brooches.   They acted out different scenarios from the period including a young son being taken to Chertsey Abbey and the introduction of Christianity to the Anglo Saxons.

During their exploration of the museum Year 3 solved riddles and clues about Anglo Saxon life.  They had an opportunity to observe various artefacts from the time including spear and ferrule.

It was an excellent day concluding the Anglo Saxon topic.
