Drama – Year 2

‘Acting is reacting’ that’s what year two have been learning in drama this week. Even if you are not centre stage, it is important to stay in character and react to the action in the scene. Messy Church – with St.Michaels

Our friends from St.Michaels, Rev. Pippa and Amy visited us this week to provide some fabulous fun and mindful awareness in their Messy Church session. Groups of children visited stations set up in the hall and took part in crafting activities including mask making, rain shakers and the ark building itself!

Mental Health week

In conjunction with Mental Health week and as part of our PSCHE curriculum, our focus has been on feelings, healthy minds, awareness and the importance of talking about our feelings. From this focus we have made some wonderful displays in classrooms and around school and enjoyed some informative assembly time.

Hockey win for Lyndhurst

Fantastic performance from the Lyndhurst team this week. Their away fixture against Barfield was a great match and resulted in a 5-4 winning finish. Well done to all the team for their effort and sportsmanship and to Liv and Rafferty for scoring those all important goals.

Music fun this week

A wonderful lesson with Year 1 who had great fun experimenting with the colourful boomwhackers this week! They tried out the sticks against different surfaces and materials to see how the sound differed. We also have a fantastic display and storage for our new Ukulele’s thank you to Mr Day for building this.

French with Reception

10th February 2022

Reception are learning lots of parts of the body this term; we’ve been having great fun playing games with the language and singing songs (including, of course, ‘Head, shoulders’!) Here we are performing this song and singing a traditional French nursery rhyme ‘Mes Petites Mains’. Tre bien!
