Prep Taster Morning – Tuesday 27th January 2026 from 09.00-12.00

We warmly invite Year 2 families considering Year 3 entry to experience a taste of Prep life at Lyndhurst School.

We understand that some pupils thrive when offered more individual attention and a learning environment that challenges and supports them in equal measure. At Lyndhurst, we take pride in helping every child reach their full potential.

To give families the chance to experience this for themselves, we would be delighted to welcome you to our Prep Taster Morning. During the morning, visiting pupils will have the opportunity to:

• Experience our vibrant and nurturing prep environment
• Meet current pupils and explore our facilities
• Enjoy creative, sporting, and academic challenges designed to inspire learning

Lyndhurst School is for boys and girls aged 3 – 11 years who want the best possible start for their journey in education.
In Little Lyndhurst, our purpose built Early Years setting, we provide a holistic approach to education for our youngest learners. Learning through play is a key feature for this age group, but preparing children for Reception is what we do best.
Reception is the beginning of our Pre-Prep, alongside our comprehensive curriculum, all children are given specialist teaching in Art, Music, Sport, Drama and weekly swimming lessons. We believe in nurturing, well-rounded, confident individuals, and this begins in the Pre-Prep years.
Children are encouraged to become more independent learners and take more responsibility for their work routines, as they transition from the Pre-Prep to the Prep at the start of Year 3. From Year 4 our children are taught by specialist English and Mathematics teachers. They move around the school for different lessons, becoming more independent and organised for life at Senior School.

Preparation for Senior School entry is an important element of the learning in Year 5. We prepare fully for a range of senior school entry tests. Indeed we pride ourselves on finding the right school for all our children.

Our children leave us with self-confidence, a love of learning, respect for themselves and others and continue to shine at their chosen senior school.
