Many thanks to the Upper School children and parents for baking and selling so many delicious treats for the cake sale this week.

Dare we mention the word Christmas…yes, it’s still September and we’re not quite ready to let go of summer… but we’re very excited about our upcoming events in October and December.
Our parents ‘Curry Night’ is on the 11th October, please join us for a delicious curry and a live performance from Rozzy Turner.
We thought there’s no better way than to kick off the festive season with our Christmas Fayre, Saturday 1st Dec, 4-6pm. To get you in the festive mood, we will be offering mince pies & mulled wine, a Christmas Market with local businesses so you can start your Christmas shopping early, our very own Santa’s Grotto and many other stalls that will be run by our children and the Lyndhurst parents & teachers. Our amazing school choir will perform Christmas carols – this can’t be missed!
On Wednesday 5th December we host our ‘Wreath Making’ workshop – we have hosted this workshop a few times now and it’s been brilliant. The wreaths look wonderful, they last well until after Christmas and there will be Prosecco – details to follow after half term.
We wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for the support in our fundraising. Thanks to you, we’re able to purchase new show lights for the hall that will transform any performance on stage into a big affair for the children – think glitter ball and disco lights! We’re hoping the lights will be installed soon and ready for the Christmas Plays & Nativities.
For this year’s fundraising, we would like to focus is the Adventure Playground. We talked about a waterproof cover for the tennis court but improvements to the adventure playground will proof to be a big hit with the children. We’re hoping to have plans drawn up and ready for you to view at the Christmas fayre so you know what we are fundraising for.
Thank you so much for your support!

Last night was the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Friends of Lyndhurst and we wanted to thank everyone who attended. It was lovely to see and meet so many new faces, and welcome back our trusty members – this year is going to be a great year for the FoL as we have an amazing team of people.
The AGM is quite different to our usual meetings, normally our first order of business is to choose between red and white wine, and then we move on to the fun stuff – event planning!
Speaking of events, our first event this term takes place on Thursday 11th October 7.30 pm, it’s a ‘Parent Social’ so book your babysitter now! We have booked a set menu of delicious Indian food at a local restaurant with live music! Details to follow via parentmail shortly, and please have a look in our Events Section for our other events.
This year we have something big planned; we want to fundraise for a waterproof cover/structure for the tennis court so the children can use the space come rain or shine. It also opens up the possibility to host different kind of events such as movie nights, school sleep-overs, school discos and many more. We are quite excited about this and hope you will find this a great a addition for the school.
There are lots of things happening in the background such as the FoL logo design, new content for our website section, and admin related things.
Our next meeting is on Tuesday 18th September 7.30 pm at the Sugden Room, please do come along, unlike the AGM, the set up is relaxed and informal, there definitely won’t be a top table and no public speaking!
We couldn’t do it without you!
