Year 5 STEM

Year 5 have had great fun expanding their STEM knowledge and experimenting. Combined with a lesson outdoors in the fresh air and all were happy! Comparing the force used to pull / drag certain items and recording all of their findings.

Pre-Reception STEM

A fabulous hands on STEM experiment down in Little Lyndhurst with Pre-Reception this week. Hearts made with vinegar were covered in a bicarb and water mixture to make them fizz! The children loved getting involved and seeing the results first hand.

STEM – Year 2

Year 2 had an amazing lesson to start their new STEM topic. They explored the classroom and the outside areas looking for a range of different examples of materials.

Little LEAF

Our Little Lyndhurster’s had great fun exploring outdoors this week in their LEAF session. They were on a hunt for interesting sticks and leaves which they collected and took back to class to take a closer look!

LEAF with Year 5

Year 5 had a fantastic afternoon of LEAF this week. The children built dens using nothing but tarpaulin and rope, demonstrating their great knot trying skills, they whittled sticks using knives and peelers before finally starting their own campfires using flint and steel. An awesome afternoon!

Year 2 took part in Mr Manser’s treasure hunt today, whizzing round school finding the 9 clues in order to get their hands on the treasure! They then had a go at making their own treasure maps, before going out and burying their goodies!

Year 4 were examining the way intestines worked in this interesting (and gross!) STEM experiment. They first chewed and broke up the food before churning it round in their stomachs. S.T.E.M – Year 5

In STEM, the Year 5 children have been looking into what is in our food? By exploring packaging of everyday foods we have at home and looking at ingredients, additives and weights etc – they can start to understand what they mean and the nutritional value of foods.

L.E.A.F – with Year 2
