Year 6 – Day 1 @ Elan Valley Wales

Posted: 23rd May 2018

Well, we all arrived safely in Wales; the children were great on the journey, no one was sick and no-one complained about how long it took. A promising start.

When we got to the lodge, we began by finding our rooms and having a cup of tea (that’s the teachers). Then we all got into our walking boots and explored the Elan Valley; the children took turns to read the map and managed to guide us over hills, past dams and reservoirs and back to the centre in time for tea.

Now we’re just relaxing for a few minutes (with another cup of tea) before we sit down to a delicious supper of sausages, potatoes, veg and gravy, followed by (I’m promised) chocolate brownie (yum!).

Tomorrow promises to be sunny and we’re looking forward to the Leap of Faith, tower building and zip line  in the morning, and kayaking in the afternoon.

Billy says ‘it’s great so far’; Jake adds ‘the rooms are independent!’

More tomorrow…!
