On a miserable, wet, winter’s afternoon, Year 5 and 6 ventured out on the Number 1 Bus to visit the residents of Kings Lodge.
They performed a selection of acapella Christmas songs (with sleigh bell special effects!) which many of the residents joined in with. They followed this with a selection of their poetry from the recital earlier this term. The ladies and gentlemen particularly enjoyed James’ performance of ‘When I got my Finger Stuck up my Nose’.
After all their hard work, the children were rewarded with a drink and delicious mince pies. They then had the opportunity to chat with the residents.
Then it was on the bus back to school. It was a lovely opportunity to share in some Christmas spirit and get to make some new friends.
