The children in our Reception Class went to Littlehampton for a day exploring the beach with their friends.  It was hot and sunny so we were able to enjoy beach life to the full.  We used buckets and spades to build sandcastles, collected many, many rocks and shells, drew and wrote in the sand and finally had an exhilarating paddle in the sea.  The children could clearly see the safe bathing flags they had learnt about before we went and were delighted to find a lifeguard on the shoreline as we paddled.  No trip to the seaside is complete without an ice cream, so once the children were dry again we all enjoyed one sitting on the edge of the esplanade looking out to sea.
