Lower School & Reception Roald Dahl Day

On Thursday Lower School and Reception joined the worldwide celebrations for Roald Dahl.  They had a ‘funtastic’ Dahlicious Day.  They dressed up as all the different marvellous Roald Dahl characters.  At Lyndhurst for the day there were Matildas causing mischief, Oompa Loompas singing as they worked, Miss Trunchbull telling the teachers off, Charlie Buckets with their Golden Tickets, The Big Friendly Giant with his big ears, a peach carrying all the insects and more different spectacular characters visiting.

As a special event for the day the children entered the imaginary world of the ‘ Chocolate Factory’.  They were singing and dancing Oompa-Loompas, they explored the  mystery and magic of the Invention Room and .  It would be all of the children’s dream to enter of the wonderful world of Willy Wonka and his enchanting Chocolate Factory!

Roald Dahl has been frequently referred to as “one of the greatest storytellers for children of the 20th century”, and still remains a firm favourite at school. His stories captivate and inspire the children. Thursday was a great opportunity to celebrate Roald Dahl. If you have not been, I would highly recommend visit Roald Dahl Museum in Great Missenden, it is a Fantabulous and is re-opening on 20th October.
