Escape Rooms

The Upper School were lucky enough to have a visit from a company dedicated to mobile escape rooms – wooden cubes with more padlocks than a gym locker room. Using carefully laid out Maths clues, the children had to solve problems and puzzles to try and find the combination to the locks, all within an hour! Questions ranged from fiendish time related puzzles, to problems based around spacial awareness – all 4 teams managed to complete their cube in under an hour, something the instructor had never seen before! The afternoon saw us trying a range of larger, more physical puzzles; things like Towers of Hanoi and making areas of fencing. A fantastic time was had by all, and importantly some fantastic Maths was done by all!
