Little Lyndhurst has been enjoying learning all about Chinese New Year. They have listened to some beautiful Chinese music, tasted fortune cookies and prawn crackers (which they really loved and wanted more). The children had fun exploring on a Chinese lucky envelope hunt around the classroom. Inside the envelopes were numbers, the children had to see if they could recognise their number, if the found this hard they had to ask a friend. All the Pre- Reception have loved playing/interacting in the Chinese restaurant and in the Small world area, they recreated the Chinese Zodiac story, where their animals raced each other. As an independent activity, some of the children enjoyed cutting and sticking their own lanterns; they looked beautiful around the classroom.
