Year 6 trip to London

Year 6 were very excited to have a trip to London.  They were treated to a tour of Westminster Abbey which was amazing.  Their tour guide Lou, really bought the history of the building alive. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier was a moving moment and it was interesting to see whose memorial or tomb is sited at the Abbey.   Year 6 enjoyed lunch in St James’ Park which was nice and relaxing, and it clouded over slightly making it slightly cooler.

The gardeners were busy at Buckingham Palace laying the turf in time for Trooping the Colour.   The Ice cream break was most welcomed having walked the length of the Mall.  Horse Guards was an impressive site with all the seating in place for the Trooping the Colour celebrations.  It was lovely walking through the Jubilee Gardens which were a green oasis on the way back to the station – and a moment to enjoy the water sprinklers! 7 miles walked in total but great memories made!!
