Recently the Guildford Theatre Company come to visit us over two days. An excellent assembly kicked off the visit and introduced us to poetry and its delivery. It set a very creative tone for the week. The children were inspired to recite their poems next week for the competition to the best of their ability – they should be excellent!
Workshops for year groups then followed, with different activities delivered to each age range. The children enjoyed the physical nature of the workshops combined with the theory of poetry formation. They created their very own poems based around a variety of subjects and took turns performing them.
A hugely successful workshop that amused staff and children alike!
