French in Year 1

Over this term we’ve been learning lots of schoolbag items, and how to say the colour of the item too; we can usually remember to put it after the item! We’ve also been learning how to say which items we have and don’t have.

Music – Year 1 & 2

In music this term, the year 1’s have had a go at conducting their own orchestra’s. Whilst listening to their favourite classical pieces the children really expressed themselves within the time and phrasing of the music with great delivery. Year 2’s have been enjoying listening to Beethoven’s 5th Symphony in Music this term. And then…

We have been listening to another French fairytale, ‘Boucle d’Or et les Trois Ours’. We are really good now at naming all the key words in our games, and have even started to learn ‘small, middle-sized and big’ chairs and beds…

Art – Bursting with creativity

The children at Lyndhurst creativity is always impressive.  Year 3  have continued their focus on architecture by designing their own house or building.  Whilst in Year 4 they have painted their clay pots.  Charles Fazzino’s artwork has inspired Year 5 to create beautiful London skyline pieces.

Sikhism – Year 3

Year 3 had two special guests visit their classroom for their RE lesson to talk to us about Sikhism. Year 3 children thoroughly enjoyed having a turban tied, eating parshaad and learning all about a Gurdwara.
