Mindfulness – Self Control

Posted: 11th February 2021

For Mindfulness across the school the children explored self-control.  They thought about ‘Why Do We Lose Control of Our Emotions?’ They thought about the reasons people ‘Flip their lid’ and recognised that it is a behaviour that we choose to do in response to an emotion we are feeling.

There were some thoughtful reflections on self control and how important it is to regulate it and alter our responses in order to avoid undesirable behaviours, increase desirable ones.

Self-control is important for our health and well-being. ‘Feelings come and feelings go. I never know what they’ll be. Silly, angry, happy or sad, They’re all a part of me!’
