Bignor Villa Trip – Year 3

Posted: 12th October 2021

Year 3 had a wonderful school trip – with the added bonus of glorious weather – at Bignor Roman Villa in Sussex. We had the entire villa to ourselves for a very exciting day of fun and learning!

The children really enjoyed learning all about how the villa was discovered and what the mosaics on the floor mean and they asked lots of great questions of our tour guide. They also did a number of activities like writing on wax tablets, working with roman numerals, making their own mosaics and grinding their own flour!

A particular favourite was playing in the mazes on the grass outside. This was after lunch in an outdoor picnic area which was once part of the villa! It was a fantastic day.
