Year 6 ALL PALS TOGETHER Workshop

Posted: 14th November 2022

Year 6 had an interesting and informative on-line workshop courtesy of the National Archives.

Having looked at a number of sources about a soldier, Henry Fairhurst, who was fighting in the trenches in World War I, they were then able to ask Henry about his experiences.

They asked about food rations, day to day life in the Trenches, found out about being treated for Trench Foot and what they did with the dead soldiers who were tragically killed in battle.

Henry showed us his lots of artefacts and we really enjoyed asking questions.  It bought the past back to life and we are very grateful to the National Archives for giving us such a valuable experience. This was particularly poignant as we have been preparing to remember the fallen from World War I in our Remembrance Service on Friday.
