ISA Drama Competition Winners

Posted: 15th May 2023

Lyndhurst School had amazing results from the ISA Drama Competition 2023, winning the award for the Best Musical. Our wonderful leading lady won the award for the Best Individual Performance for her portrayal of Alice. This is the second year running that Lyndhurst has won the Best Musical award. Congratulations to all the cast and the team behind the production.

We had some amazing feedback from one of the judges:

“I found the whole performance enchanting. Overall the smooth use of the stage by a big cast was impressive and I thought the choreography of the songs was a particular strength to this piece. The performer of Alice was captivating and confident. Her performance felt very real and her songs delighted us all. She held the stage with assurance and when addressing the audience directly she made us feel part of her world. This was a brave thing to do.  The performer of the Cheshire cat put a smile on my face and I particularly liked her costume. A suitably scary Duchess was fun to watch as she threw her pots and pans around. Also fun was the Mad Hatters tea party with the performer playing the mouse, as sweetly as a mouse can be. I was impressed by the Red Queen with her fierce facial expressions and scary voice.  And lastly I loved the many flamingos that flooded the stage in the croquet scene. They looked magical when they spun off stage. The entire ensemble should be credited for their energy and enthusiasm with some great set pieces that made this performance so enjoyable to watch. Well done all.”
