Kerry Gibb Judges Poetry Recital Final

Posted: 16th November 2018

WOW… What a magnificent event that was!

The class winners performed in front of the whole school, their parents and grandparents.

The children did their best and we are so impressed that every single one of them was able to recite their poem from memory! Even Annabel and Bradley in Year 3, learnt their poems by heart in one week – they had read it out in the class poetry competition last week! That is such a great effort!

Kerry Gibb, the local visiting author, and Mrs Draper (Lyndhurst Drama Teacher) had a very difficult job whilst judging who the winners should be.

Eventually, 5 children were awarded special prizes:

Prize 1 – Age 4 – 6 Winner: Lily from Reception, performing ‘Hickory Dickory Dock’

Prize 2 – Age 6 – 7 Winner: Bradley from Year 3 with the poem ‘A Dragon in the Classroom’

Prize 3 – Age 7 – 11 Winner: Ruby- Rose and Alex – an outstanding performance of the ‘Homework Poem’

Without a doubt, the whole school winner was Rupert from Year 4 with his extremely long poem ‘Colonel Fazackerley’!

Miss Jezierska is immensely proud of all the children who stood on stage today and accomplished so much!

We are looking forward to more school events that celebrate the children’s achievements!
